# PECR Check

> PECR Check is a UK B2B email compliance API operated by Emailmovers Limited. Send an email address and get deliverability (MX and mailbox check), free webmail screening, the UK registered company behind the domain (name, Companies House number and status) and a PECR subscriber verdict with reason codes, confidence and a stored audit record. It is a classification with evidence, not legal advice. Free, no card needed.

Verdicts are CORPORATE_SUBSCRIBER, PUBLIC_SECTOR_BODY, INDIVIDUAL_SUBSCRIBER, UNKNOWN, UNDELIVERABLE and SUPPRESSED. Under PECR, corporate subscribers (companies, LLPs, Scottish partnerships) are outside the regulation 22 consent rule; sole traders, most partnerships and personal addresses are individual subscribers. If unsure, ICO guidance (the ICO is now the Information Commission) says to treat an address as an individual.
