Enter a work email address. PECR Check confirms the domain can receive mail, finds the UK registered company behind it on Companies House, and tells you whether PECR treats it as a corporate subscriber.
Free, no card needed. No account needed to try it.
3 free checks a day. A classification with evidence, not legal advice: you remain responsible for what you send.
From 5 February 2026 the maximum PECR fine rose from £500,000 to £17.5 million or 4% of worldwide turnover. Corporate subscribers sit outside the reg 22 consent rule, so knowing which addresses are corporate keeps B2B email open as a channel.
| Verdict | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| CORPORATE_SUBSCRIBER | The domain matched an active UK body corporate: a company, LLP, Scottish partnership and so on. | PECR reg 22 consent not required. Identify yourself and include an opt-out. |
| PUBLIC_SECTOR_BODY | A recognised UK public sector domain, such as gov.uk or nhs.net. | Review. Treat as corporate only under your own policy. |
| INDIVIDUAL_SUBSCRIBER | Free webmail or a consumer ISP address. | Consent needed. For invites, let the user share their own referral link. |
| UNKNOWN | No confident UK match, several candidates, or the company is dissolved or not active. | Consent needed. ICO guidance (the ICO is now the Information Commission) says that if you are unsure, treat the address as an individual. |
| UNDELIVERABLE | Invalid address, a domain that cannot receive mail, or a disposable inbox. | Do not send. |
| SUPPRESSED | The address or its domain is on your own suppression list. | Do not send. |
Built for apps with invite or outreach features, sequencers, CRMs and agencies. Gate each email on the verdict, and give everyone else a link they can share themselves. Batches of up to 100, suppression lists and stored audit records are included. Read the API reference.

}No. PECR Check gives you a classification with evidence: a verdict, reason codes, the Companies House record behind the domain and a stored audit record. It does not tell you an email is lawful to send. You remain the sender and are responsible for your message, PECR reg 23 (identify yourself and offer an opt-out) and UK GDPR.
Under PECR, a corporate subscriber is a body corporate such as a limited company, an LLP or a Scottish partnership. The reg 22 consent rule for marketing email does not apply to them. Sole traders, most other partnerships and personal addresses are individual subscribers and need consent or the soft opt-in.
It uses Emailmovers’ UK business data plus Companies House, and returns the company name, number, type and status. Only a confident match to an active UK body corporate returns CORPORATE_SUBSCRIBER. Anything uncertain returns UNKNOWN.
Evidence records keep a SHA-256 hash of each address, not the plaintext, for 3 years by default. Addresses you check are never added to Emailmovers’ marketing database.
Free webmail and invalid addresses are never billed. Everything that reaches company matching is one lookup, and checking the same address again within 30 days returns the cached result at no charge.
